Nowadays teachers are becoming less influential than before.
Nowadays there are lots of discussions on teachers. Some people have been worrying that students are no longer willing to listen to teachers and regard teachers as examples to learn. This argument might be true. In my country, especially in many big cities, many students’ daily behavior have been influenced by famous and popular actors or singers. There are two main reasons contribute to this situation. First, students may not have enough time to enjoy teachers’ teaching. Instead, they spend most of their time on heavy loads of homework and exam preparation. As a result of it, students’ focus on teacher might mainly be homework and exam only. Also, the life experiences of celebrities leave students more space to relax after studying whole day in school.
On the other hand, there are various aspects against these arguments. If teachers teach students in a reasonable way so that students’ interests are aroused, they will be more influential than others. This is because teachers have much more time than others staying with students. In addition, teachers are more likely to guide students in a correct way than pop stars and famous person. Most of teachers are well trained and better understand how to motivate students.
In short, it is fairly difficult to say teachers are more or less influential on students these days. However, it is more essential to find better methods to encourage students to be well developed.
